Singles Conference

On June 21, I was able to go to a Singles Conference in Hartford, CT. Cori is in Massachusetts for the summer and her stake was invited to attend. So we both went. It was a great day. We left her house early on that Saturday morning and drove to Hartford. The first activity of the day started at 9:00. We went and visited some Wilford Woodruff sites. He grew up in Hartford.

Our first stop was the cemetery where his mom was buried. It is a really old cemetery as you can see. Her name is hard to read.
Our next stop was to the cemetery where Robert Mason was buried. He was a man that talked to Wilford Woodruff about the church, but never got baptized. This cemetery was so cool.

Our last stop was at Wilford Woodruff's birth place. This rock is it. It was a funny story. When we were told that we were going to his birthplace, we were excited. When we pulled up to this park, we looked around and there was this rock and we were disappointed. Then, the guide that was directing us told us that through the trees is the actual area but we weren't allowed to go there because it was a boy scout camp. So we have the rock.

Our evening activity was a cruise with some dancing on the Connecticut River in downtown Hartford. Here is our boat.
These two, we met up with before the cruise and had such a good time with them. Their names are Golfo and Staci. They made the evening so much more entertaining.

This is Hartford. It was a fun trip.

Sandberg Moving Day

Today is a sad day. This morning the moving truck arrived to pack up the Sandberg's house. We will miss having them down the street.

I had to get one last picture of their house here in Syracuse. It boggles the mind, though, how you can get all the things in a house this size....

into a truck this size.

Mom's Birthday

For all that don't know, my mom's birthday is on the 4th of July. I decided to make a cake for her this year that was an ice cream cake. It was a double layer of chocolate chip cookie dough on the bottom, oreos for the middle layer and vanilla chocolate fudge with oreos on the top and decorated. It was a big hit!!

Fun Fourth of July

My family was invited to go to the Stake President's house. They live on Lake Owasco in Auburn. It is one of the finger lakes here in central New York. It is so pretty.

They took us out on their boat. They also took us tubing and the Sandbergs went, I of course, did not. But it was so fun

Niagara Falls

After we left the Pageant, Cori and I drove to Buffalo, NY and spent the night. Then, in the morning we woke up and drove into Canada. I never imagined myself being an international traveler but now I am. Ha!! Anyway, we spent July 17th in Niagara Falls.

When we got there, we decided to go on the Maid of the Mist boat. For those that have not been on it before, you take this boat as seen in the picture right into the center of the horseshoe falls (straight ahead).

When thinking about it from when I went with my family years ago, I remembered not getting very wet. So, I didn't wear the poncho they give you, as you see everyone else wearing in the picutre. Well, I was sadly mistaken once we got in the middle of the falls and was soaking wet within the first two minutes. But after all was said and done, it was a hot day and the wetness felt so good. Needless to say, I couldn't get great pictures from there, and didn't want to ruin my camera.

After going onto the boat we walked around on the observation sidewalk. I was able to get some beautiful pictures of the falls from there.

We walked around Niagara and found a Hershey's store. I had to get a picture of the little kiss and the enterance, they were too cool not to. We left Canada about 3:30 and got home about 7:30. All in all it was a fun two days.

Hill Cumorah Pageant

This last week, July 16, the day after my 33rd birthday (can you believe it?) I was able to attend the Hill Cumorah Pagaent with my friend Cori. We went and spent the afternoon there and walked around. It was a fun day.

This is my favorite part of the pageant...when Christ appears to the Americas. Thanks Cori for letting me use your picture.
