Anyway, my point in all this is that I got a new toy. I purchased a GPS system. It's so nice...and small. I used Cori's a lot this summer and felt that it is a necessity...especially with new travels coming. It's a Garmin 200. I have even taught mom how to use it. And she loves it too!!! Can't beat that!!

My new toy
Yeah, I know, I'm taking forever to update this. I had no idea school this year was going to be so out of control. I was told that 2nd semester last year was the hardest....I think they lied.

Weeding Out
The theme for the next while of our life is weeding out. We started going through the basement this week. We have rearranged the basement some and will continue to do so. We have moved mom's big craft table from up in the family room down to the basement and organized a scrapbook area for mom to get started in going through all of her scrapbooking stuff.

Lake Ontario
So, one last day trip before Cori leaves on Saturday for home. Yesterday, after I took my final for Microbiology (YEAH!!!!!), we went to Lake Ontario. Beth Galloway, a lady in my ward, has a "camp" up there. I say it lightly because it's a house on the lake. She invited us up there to go kayaking, but it was so windy.
This picture is of Lake Ontario. It doesn't usually look this muddy, but since it was so windy, the water is just churning. Usually it's a lot more clear blue. 50 miles straight across is Canada.New York City Part Two
Our next stop was to Central Park. It was so calm and peaceful, which is weird in the middle of a crazy city.
Guess where this is. Money Money Money!!
I just have to share some of my favorite pictures. This one I love because you see New York and the Statue of Liberty.
We moved on to Ellis Island. I walked around and took pictures of family names. There is such a sacred spirit here.
This is the view of New York from Ellis Island. Such a pretty city. It is so different, however, with the towers not there.Wednesday, August 6, 2008
New York City Part One
This past weekend, I went back to visit Cori in Massachusetts and on Saturday, August 2, we drove to take a train into New York City.
This is a picture of us at the beginning of the day on the train, excited to get to the Big Apple.
Our arrival to Grand Central Station.

After arriving we went right to Times Square. It was so packed with people, but so cool to actually see.
While we were on Times Square, we stopped by a few shops. One was Toys R Us. We had to see the ferris wheel because Karen told us it was a must see.
Also, we went to the M&M store and I couldn't resist getting a picture of the disco M&M. We went to other stores too, but nothing was worth taking a picture of.On our way to Central Park, we found David Letterman's studio.

Mystery Solved!!!!!!

I just wanted to let everyone know that there is a sign, two in fact, posted, and I found them BOTH this weekend! One sign is on Route 295 as you enter into New York from Massachusetts; and the other is on Route 20 as you enter into New York from Massachusetts. As I drove by the one on Route 20 tonight, I couldn't resist to stop and take a picture, for posterity and to alleviate further confusion. So for those that are planning to come to New York by way of airplane or any other way, just know this is a state law as some of our friends have been given a hefty ticket for using their phones.
